Frequently Asked Questions
First things first, how do I book you?
I'm so pleased you are considering face and body art for your event! The first thing you need to do is fill out your event form. Once I've received this, I will check my availability and get back to you with a quote. I then send you my booking form which includes my t's and c's, and will also send an invoice for your non-refundable deposit. No booking is confirmed until you have agreed to the t's and c's and the deposit is paid. Your final invoice will be sent out to you 2 weeks prior to your event! Please note, corporate events may differ.
Where are you based, and do you charge for travel?
Travel within a 12 mile radius from S26 6NE is included in my standard rates. Any travel outside of this radius will be charged at 45p each way, in line with HMRC reccommendations. I predominantly provide services across South Yorkshire, The Peak District, Chesterfield and Doncaster, and do sometimes provide services up to Leeds and across to Manchester. If your event is further away, I would still love to hear from you! All travel fees will be included in your quote breakdown
What kind of paint do you use?
I only use high quality, hypo-allergenic professional face and body paint, and cosmetic glitter. Although I haven't purchased plastic based glitter since the summer of 2017 (it lasts a really long time and has no expiry date!) I do still have some plastic based glitter in my kit, as well as bio degradable alternatives. If you require bio-degradeable glitter for your event, please specify this in your request so I can ensure I only bring appropriate kit!
Can everyone be painted?
Children must be 3 years old to be painted or have glitter applied to them. This is absolutely non negotiable. It goes against manufacturer's instructions to paint children under 3 years of age, and I would hate to be responsible for a child having a negative reaction to the paint due to being too young. The health and well-being of those I paint is my top priority. I will also not paint people who appear to be ill, have a rash or broken skin, or who do not want to be painted. I will also not paint anyone who is rude or abusive.
What if I have to postpone my event?
We are living in very strange times. If you have to postpone your event due to government imposed restrictions, I will do my best to accommodate your new event date and timings at no extra fee. If I am unable to fulfil your new date and time, I will do my best to find an alternative artist in whom I have every confidence will provide you with the same level of service as I provide. If you have to move your time and date for any other reason, again I will do my best to accommodate, but may have to charge a small admin fee. If you have to cancel your event for reasons other than government imposed restrictions, my usual cancellation policy applies.
Do you charge more for weddings?
This is a very common misconception about wedding suppliers. The wedding tax does not exist, it is a myth. I have seperate rates depending on the timings of your booking. Bookings during the following times will incur different charges: 5am-9am, 9am-5pm, 5pm-10pm, 10pm-2am. Most wedding bookings take place from 8pm-10 pm, and therefore have a higher charge than if they were to take place from 9am-5pm, but it would be the same charge for a birthday party during the same time period.
Do you have insurance?
I have public liability insurance with Salon Gold and am happy to provide you with a copy of my certificate should you require one.
